About Harbor Cove Management Inc

By January, New Buffalo's harbor has gone quiet: the slips empty, the Galien River channel plated over, wind coming straight off the lake with nothing left to slow it. Harbor Cove Management Inc works through that quiet, keeping drives, lots and shared walks open for the cottages and buildings that hold the shoreline through winter. Lake-effect snow can bury a parking area between one visit and the next, so plowing here means returning, and returning again, until the band finally moves off. Salt and ice control go down where people actually travel — the steps, the mailbox, the short path from car door to front door. It is plain work, and its result is a place that stays usable in the coldest month of the year.
