Nelson Township is the sandy north edge of Kent County — small lakes tucked into the woods, pine and oak crowding the road, Sand Lake sitting at the middle of it. Frye Family Lawn Care mows and trims through those neighborhoods and out along the country roads, weekly across the season and heavier at either end of it. The April round is needles, blown leaves and winter's broken branches raked clear before the first cut; the October round is much the same in reverse, finished before the ground locks up. Sandy ground greens early and browns fast, so the mowing height climbs as the summer wears on. The best moment of the job is the last look back down a finished yard, with the trim line running straight along the drive.
