Gerou Excavating & Readi Mix

About Gerou Excavating & Readi Mix

Superior doesn't send winter so much as build it — open water, a north wind, and by dark the whole township sits under a low gray sky that means business. Come morning the drifts have redrawn every driveway between the bay and the ridges below Pictured Rocks, and Gerou Excavating & Readi Mix is out in it with the plow down and the headlights full of falling flakes. The work is snow removal: drives and lots opened, walkways cleared, ice knocked back, then a second pass when the lake decides to send more. There is a plain satisfaction in a drive cut clean before the school bus makes its turn, banks pushed back where they belong, a car rolling out toward Munising without a wheel spinning. In a place that measures snow in feet, that is the whole job — keeping people moving all winter long.
