Bay County lies flat as a tabletop around Munger, beet ground running out to the horizon with the wind coming straight off Saginaw Bay. That flatness is lovely in July and a problem in February, when half an inch of new snow can drift a farm lane shut inside an hour. Odonnells Earthworks handles the snow end of it — plowing drives and yards, opening walks and doorways, and putting ice control down where the wind has polished the surface hard. There is real satisfaction in a farmyard opened up wide before the first chore of the morning. Out here you clear it, the wind refills it, and you go back out; that is simply the arrangement.
