Mid-July, a day after a thunderstorm has come up out of the southwest, Mission Creek Woodland Park is loud with green — that saturated, almost humming color mid-Michigan only holds for a few weeks a year. Green Scene Landscaping chases it around Mount Pleasant with landscaping and lawn care: cutting, trimming, bed work and the cleanups at either end of the year. Then the palette drops to gray and white, and the trucks head out with blades to open drives, walks and lots. A well-cut lawn in that July light has a depth you can read from the road, stripes and all. Holding it there through a hot, rainless August is its own kind of attention.
