By late August the brick fronts on Morenci's main street hold their heat until well past supper, and grain trucks start rolling through town again. Thompson's Lawncare and Landscape spends those weeks mowing, trimming and edging the yards along the village streets and out on the section roads toward Hudson and Blissfield. Autumn brings the cleanup — leaves off the turf, beds cut back, everything squared away before the ground goes hard. Then the wind swings around to the north and the same routes get plowed, shoveled and treated for ice in the dark. Two seasons, one town, and a genuine satisfaction in leaving a place looking finished.
