White Pine Lawn & Snow Group

About White Pine Lawn & Snow Group

At five on a January morning Midland is blue-dark and quiet, the streetlights holding rings of falling snow, and the trucks are already moving. White Pine Lawn & Snow Group works that hour — plowing lots, shoveling walks, spreading salt so a driveway is open and a front step is safe before anyone has to think about it. Wind comes across the open ground from the Coleman side with nothing much to slow it, so the drifts build back in and the route gets run a second time without complaint. Then the year turns, the Pere Marquette Rail-Trail thaws out under the bikes, and the same trucks come back loaded with mowers and trimmers for spring cleanups. Two calendars, one town, and the plain pleasure of a place kept in order.
