About Villa's Landscaping
February in Melvindale is a long negotiation between thaw and refreeze. Villa's Landscaping handles the snow — plowing driveways and lots, clearing walks and steps, salting the slick that forms when a bright afternoon runs headlong into a ten-degree night. Most of these drives run long and narrow back to a garage near the alley, and the trick is taking them clean the first time so the ridge at the curb never hardens into something permanent. It is unglamorous, satisfying work: a car that backs out without a slip, a mail carrier who never breaks stride. Winter here is stubborn, and the routine that answers it has to be just as stubborn.
