About Jake's Tree Removal, Llc

Out along US-2, deep in the Ottawa National Forest, Marenisco counts winter in feet rather than inches, and the snow comes off the big woods heavy and deep. Jake's Tree Removal, an outfit used to sizing up hard work in the timber, turns that same steady judgment to snow removal right here at home. The plow goes to work while the hemlocks still hold the dark, so the drive is open before the first headlights turn toward the highway. There is a clean satisfaction in it: one straight cut through the drift, the banks squared off, the way out made plain. Beside the Presque Isle River, that open lane is how a February morning in Marenisco gets started.
