Marathon Township runs from the Flint River backwater at Holloway Reservoir out through farm country toward Columbiaville, and the year here has two distinct halves. Chadricos lawncare and snow removal works both: mowing, trimming and seasonal cleanups from the first green push of April until the last leaves are down, then plowing, shoveling and salting once the ground goes hard. Lawns near the water grow thick in summer and want a schedule you can count on; winter drives want somebody already moving at four in the morning. Trading one machine for the other is mostly a matter of keeping the same eye for edges — a straight line along a walk in July, a straight line along that same walk in January. Either way the place looks looked-after.
