A few miles out of town Kitch-iti-kipi holds its water that impossible green all winter, never freezing, always moving. Blue Oasis Lawn works the town side of the same country: mowing, trimming and edging while the season allows it, plowing and salting once it does not. Manistique winters do not negotiate — snow arrives by the foot, and a drive has to be open before the day can begin.
