Sunrise at Luna Pier comes straight up out of Lake Erie, throws light down the breakwall, and puts a hard sparkle on every wet lawn between the shore and I-75. Twelve Rivers Site Management keeps those properties cut and clean — mowing, trimming, edging, and the cleanups a shoreline town's wind and marsh grass make necessary. Lake air and sandy ground set their own terms, and turf here does best cut often and never scalped. There is a nice symmetry to a lawn mowed in straight rows while the water does whatever it likes just past the seawall. Starting the day in that first light off the lake is not a bad way to make a living.
