About Abbott Landscaping

Lincoln Park sits on flat old lakeplain, and the clay under its yards holds water long after a May rain has moved off east toward the river. Abbott Landscaping works that ground the way it asks to be worked — mowing when the grass is dry enough to cut clean, trimming the narrow tree-lawn strips between sidewalk and curb where a mower deck can't quite reach. There is a particular satisfaction in a front yard along Champaign Road finished by ten in the morning, the clippings swept off the walk, the whole green square squared off. Lawns here are small, which means every line shows. The work is simple to name and hard to fake: lawn care, kept on a schedule, in a town that notices.
