Morning on the Lake Huron shore comes up over the water first, and by the time the sun clears the horizon the lawns in Lexington Township are already soaked with dew. Mowing starts once that burns off — steady passes, trimming around posts and plantings, edging the walk so it keeps a clean line against the grass. Lake air holds this ground greener and later into the season than the country further inland, so the rotation runs long here. Between the bluff and the farms behind it there are yards of every size, and each one gets the same finish. Blow the walks, load up, on to the next.
