A mowing stripe is only light bent one way and then the other, and on a broad Leslie Township lawn in low evening sun it can be a genuinely beautiful thing. Chasing that is the point here. Straight passes laid down with the pattern planned before the first one, trimming close so nothing interrupts the geometry, edging the drive so the field of grass has a real border. The land out here is flat enough to show every line honestly, for better and for worse. Do it right and a yard reads like something combed — which, once a week all summer, is exactly what it is.
