On a clear December dawn the fields around Larkin Township throw light back at you — frost across the stubble, the plowed banks glittering wherever the sun catches an edge. Sequin Lawn & Snow LLC is already out in it, plowing drives, scraping walks, treating the slick patch by the steps before anybody's boots find it. Come May the same equipment trades over to mowers, and the trimming, edging and cleanup make the yards shine in the opposite direction. Two kinds of sparkle, really: sunlight on new snow and sunlight on wet cut grass. Both of them mean somebody was here early.
