About KCR Services, Inc.
Three in the morning is a working hour in this part of Michigan. When the band sets up off the big lake and the snow starts running sideways down M-137 toward Interlochen, KCR Services, Inc. is already moving — headlights, wipers, the low push of the blade against a driveway nobody has walked on yet. The point of all that early effort is simple and worth taking pride in: someone steps outside at seven to a clear path and a car that will back out without a fight. Between passes the forest stands quiet on both sides of the road, holding its own snow in the branches. Winter around Lake Ann asks for people who will go first, and this is that kind of work.
