The Looking Glass River loops slow and brown through Laingsburg, and on a June morning the dew is still sitting on the grass when the first mower starts. Bush and sons lawn care and irrigation works those river-town lawns and the farm places out along the section roads — mowing on a schedule, trimming close where a deck cannot reach, finishing the edges along walks and drives. Mid-Michigan summers can swing from soaked to baked inside a week and the grass tells on you either way, so the answer is consistency. By October it is leaves instead of clippings, and the same yards get put in order before the cold. Laingsburg, Bath, Perry, Ovid and the nearby Shiawassee and Clinton county towns are the service area.
