About Perfect Turf

October along the Paul Henry-Thornapple Trail turns the east side of Kentwood copper, and every gust sends another load of it down into the yards below. Perfect Turf tends the lawns underneath — mowing while there's still growth in the blade, trimming, edging, pulling the leaves off the turf before they mat down and smother it. Grass here goes into the cold in better shape when it has been cut right and cleared late; that last good pass in November pays back the following May. The finished look is worth the cold fingers: an open, even lawn, crisp lines, not a leaf left on the walk. Then the ground goes quiet and waits its turn.
