SK Lawn Care

About SK Lawn Care

Kaleva was laid out by Finnish settlers and named out of their old epic, and the village still keeps that plain, upright look — short streets, jack pine and sand, wide sky over Manistee County. SK Lawn Care mows the yards there and out along the country roads toward Bear Lake and Brethren, trimming close, clearing the walks, and holding a route through the short northern growing season. Sandy ground drains nearly as fast as the rain falls, so grass comes on in quick green surges and then rests, and cutting it well means reading that rhythm instead of the calendar. When autumn blows in off Lake Michigan the leaves and needles come down together, and the cleanup takes both. A trim, even lawn in that low late light, with the shadows running long, is a fine thing to leave behind.
