About Scape and Sweep Landscaping

Antrim County sits square in northern Michigan's snowbelt, and around Jordan the maple and beech ridges can disappear under a single long night of lake-effect. Scape and Sweep Landscaping lives up to the second half of its name each winter, sweeping snow out of driveways and off walks so the hollows and hilltops stay connected to the county roads. First light up here comes pale and silver over the drifts, and the welcome sight is a drive scraped wide, its banks squared, a line of packed gravel or blacktop running out to meet the plowed road. In a northern winter the snow can start again by noon, and the clearing comes back around with it. Each pass leaves the hills a little more open to the people who live in them.
