The name is the calendar. From thaw to hard frost, Mow "N" Snow is out across Jenison with mowers and trimmers, keeping lawns even and borders clean through the long green stretch of a west-Michigan summer. Then the lake turns the sky gray, the first squall comes off the water, and the trucks go on before daylight to clear drives and lots and lay down salt. Walkways get shoveled by hand, because that is the part a machine cannot finish. Two seasons, one route, the same stretch of Georgetown Township either way.
