Alleys and back lots are the parts of Jackson nobody photographs, and they are the parts that fail first when winter gets serious — a plugged approach, a snowed-in pad, a curb cut nobody can get a wheel over. Hubbard's Rubbish Removal, LLC already knows those routes by heart, and in January the truck runs them with a blade instead, opening drives, pads and access lanes so the ordinary business of a week can keep happening. Clearing is a hauling problem as much as a pushing one: the snow has to end up somewhere that does not block the next thing. Doors, dumpster approaches and walkways get opened by hand where the plow cannot reach. The result is a property that keeps working straight through the storm.
