About Honkala Service

Ishpeming sits on high ground, and you feel every foot of it in the wind that crosses the ridge above Al Quaal on a February night. Honkala Service handles what that wind leaves behind — plowing, shoveling and sanding for homes and lots around town, right through the weeks when the banks grow taller than the mailboxes. In the warm half of the year the work turns to mowing, string trimming and carrying off the season's clippings and leaves. Old US-41 runs past a hundred yards that look better for a weekly cut, and a good many of them get one. It is unglamorous, steady, useful work, and it shows on every property that receives it.
