Nothing in Ishpeming is greener than the first true week of June, when the last cold leaves Teal Lake and every yard in town comes up at once. Then the light shortens and the same trucks carry blades: driveways cleared, walks shoveled, salt down where the hill meets the street. A lawn cut even and a drive pushed clean scratch the very same itch. Both of them say somebody came by and cared how the place looked when they left.
