The Menominee River draws the state line just south of town, and standing on the bank you can watch weather cross out of Wisconsin and arrive in Iron Mountain a few minutes later. Midwest Snow and Lawn Care keeps an eye on both sides of that river and both sides of the calendar — grass through the green months, snow through the white ones. In July the mowing and trimming come on a steady rotation; in January the plow goes out at whatever hour the storm decides.
