About 3 Feathers Contracting Company

When Anchor Bay locks up, Ira Township goes very quiet — shanties out on the ice, the canals at Fair Haven gone white and flat, every boat cover stiff with frost. Snow coming off Lake St. Clair tends to be wet and heavy, the kind that sets like mortar if it sits, so the plow goes out early and goes out often. The work is plowing drives and lots, clearing walkways and entries by hand, and laying salt where a bright day followed by a cold night turns a sidewalk into a rink. It is simple work, done at three in the morning in the wind, and by breakfast it looks like nothing happened at all. Snow removal for Ira Township, Fair Haven, New Baltimore and Chesterfield.
