By February the snow around Hudsonville has been pushed and pushed again until the banks at the end of every drive stand shoulder-high and gray as old wool. Zehn's Enterprise LLC is still out in it — plowing driveways and lots, cutting those banks back so the next storm has somewhere to go, salting walks that keep glazing over in the freeze-and-thaw. The long gravel lanes out toward the farm country ask for a different touch than a subdivision apron does, and both of them get it. Then one morning arrives clear and hard blue, the whole flat county lit up and glittering, and every drive on the route is already open to the road. That is the entire point of the work, and it has not gotten old yet.
