Felice's Four Seasons

About Felice's Four Seasons

By four in the morning, Cedar Street is already thinking about the drive into Lansing. Felice's Four Seasons works ahead of that hour — plowing drives and lots, opening a bare path from the door to the car, cutting the glaze on steps and walks with salt before the first pair of shoes finds it. Holt winters rarely announce themselves; the snow just arrives overnight, quiet and level, and by sunrise it has to be somewhere other than the pavement. There is a small pride in a lot sitting black and open while the fields beyond it are still white. Nobody notices the work, which is exactly the point.
