About Heritage and Company, Inc.

Holly grew up around a railroad crossing, and the trains still run through the middle of town at hours when almost nothing else does. Heritage and Company, Inc. keeps roughly those hours in winter — out before the first light, plowing drives and lots, shoveling entries, laying salt across the approaches while the village is still dark and blue. When the ground thaws, the work turns to mowing on a set rotation, trimming, edging, mulching the beds and clearing the yard front to back in spring and again in fall. A property tended on both ends of the calendar never has to be rescued; it just stays ready. That steadiness, more than any single day's effort, is what the job actually is.
