About Hallack Contracting Inc

Winter in Hart arrives sideways off Lake Michigan, lake-effect bands sweeping inland over Oceana County until the asparagus fields around the county seat vanish under one long white page. Hallack Contracting Inc answers that weather with snow removal, opening up driveways and paths so the town's short winter days can get going. Down at Hart Lake the water freezes gray and still, and the old rail bed of the Hart-Montague Trail lies unbroken for miles, but a doorstep was never meant to wait for spring. The pride is in the plain result: blacktop showing again, banks shoved out of the way, a path wide enough to walk without a second thought. Come May, as green spears break through the fields, those opened winter mornings are the record the work leaves behind.
