Haglund's All Outdoors

About Haglund's All Outdoors

Harrisville faces the sunrise, and in January the sun comes up over a lake that steams. Haglund's All Outdoors is already moving by then — clearing drives on the streets above the harbor, opening the cottage two-tracks that squeeze between the pines, pushing lake-effect back off the walks. Snow along this stretch of the Sunrise Side falls heavy and wet one week, dry and drifting the next, and each kind wants different handling. There is a quiet pleasure in a plowed drive with squared-off shoulders while the water is still going pink at the horizon.
