About Hamlin Landscaping

Hamlin Township is sand and water: the lake that shares its name spread out in bays and channels, the dunes stacked between it and Lake Michigan, and the Big Sable running its dark thread through the middle. Lawns grown on that ground are their own proposition — quick to dry, thin where the sand is close, thick and soft in the shaded hollows — and Hamlin Landscaping mows each accordingly. Cottage yards get the edges cut where turf meets the path down to the dock, and trimming keeps the line honest around posts, stairs and the base of the pines. In July the work happens early, before the beach traffic builds along the road to the state park. What the owner comes home to is a lawn that looks unfussed and completely in order, which is exactly what a summer place should be.
