About Bakhuyzen Services

A Dutch surname is no rarity in this corner of Allegan County, and Bakhuyzen Services carries one up and down the section roads of Gun Plain township. Late August is the test here: corn shoulder-high on both sides of the road, the air thick, the grass growing in bursts between thunderstorms. Mowing, trimming and lawn cleanup are the answer to that — a steady route, week after week, so nothing ever gets away from a homeowner. There is real satisfaction in pulling out of a drive and seeing the yard sit level and open again, the field edge tidy where lawn meets farmland. Around here, that is simply how a place is kept.
