Grawn sits between Silver Lake and the cherry ridges southwest of Traverse City, where the growing season is short and lovely and the winter is long and serious. Landscape Management mows and trims through the summer, then plows drives and lots once the snow begins stacking against the fence lines. Lake-effect off Grand Traverse Bay can bury a driveway overnight, so the trucks roll early and come back when the wind reloads it. Warm-weather work is weekly cuts, trimmed edges and leaf cleanup once the orchards turn. There is a good feeling in a plowed drive at first light, with fog still sitting in the low ground.
