Stan's Yard & Sport

About Stan's Yard & Sport

Late winter in Gobles is a tug-of-war: a March thaw softens the fields, then a fresh squall off the big lake buries the fruit farms of Van Buren County all over again. Stan's Yard & Sport stays in the game right to the end, handling snow removal for driveways around town until the season finally concedes. Spring snow is heavy and wet, the kind that packs into ruts and freezes hard overnight, and clearing it before it sets keeps drives from turning to washboard ice. The orchards wait in tidy rows under that last white blanket, and the cleared lanes between house and road look every bit as orderly. It's a fitting finish for a business with both yard and sport in its name.
