Garfield Road runs long and straight through the middle of the township, and on a gray November afternoon you can watch the first real flakes come across it in sheets. That sight starts the second half of the year for Premier Outdoors: plow mounted, routes set, ready for the night the sky finally commits. Through winter it is driveways opened and walks cleared while most of Grand Traverse County is still asleep; through summer it is the mower running that same road, yard to yard, week after week. Trimming, edging and a clean blow-down finish each stop, whatever the season. Two very different kinds of quiet — snow before dawn, cut grass at dusk — handled by the same hands.
