Dawns Lawns

About Dawns Lawns

This is one of the few stretches of Michigan where the sun comes up out of open water, and Frenchtown Township gets the first of it — a long gold line over Lake Erie before the day has warmed to anything. Dawns Lawns keeps that hour, starting while dew still weighs the grass down and the air over the fields is cool and honest. Mowing, string trimming, edging along walks and drives, then clearing away every clipping: simple work, done before the heat can make it hard. By the time a street is properly awake, the lawns along it have already been cut, tidied and left alone. Coming home to that at the end of a workday is the whole point of it.
