April runs the Red Cedar full and brown past Fowlerville, and the fields go from stubble to green faster than seems reasonable. Green-Up Landscape Group opens the year with cleanups — winter debris raked off, beds cleared, the first cut laid down while the ground is still soft. Mowing, trimming and edging carry on from there to the far end of autumn. There is something hopeful about that first pass across a lawn that has been gray since November. By May the whole route is greened up and holding.
