About Ultimate Turf, Inc.

May along the Flint River, the trail below Kettering runs green again and the reclaimed ground at Chevy Commons comes up thick after the rains. Ultimate Turf, Inc. opens its season around then — first mows, trimming, edging, a yard brought back into shape after five months of lying dormant. Turf in this county has to survive heavy clay, a hot flat August and a long burial under snow, so the aim stays honest and simple: even height, true lines, nothing scalped. Come winter those same properties get plowed and shoveled, drives opened and walkways cut through. The grass is under there the entire time, waiting on the next May.
