Downtown Flint still runs on brick. Saginaw Street's pavers hold the shape of Vehicle City, and the arches above them stay lit long after the offices go dark. J.griffins plows and shovels the blocks that spoke out from there, opening driveways while January is still black overhead and the salt trucks are two streets away. When the thaw finally takes, those same routes go green and the work turns to mowing, trimming, and a crisp edge cut along every walk. It is a small pride, a drive opened at five in the morning, but it is the one that gets a whole street to work on time.
