Andes Stump Grinding

About Andes Stump Grinding

Detroit's side streets were laid out for shade, and decades of storms have left them dotted with stumps sitting where a big elm or maple used to stand. Andes Stump Grinding works those blocks — the front strips, the back lots, the alley edges, the corner somebody has decided to take care of again. Tree removal when what is left is more hazard than tree, tree trimming for the ones with life still in them, and then the grinder, chewing a stump below grade so the ground can be filled and leveled. City lots have no room to spare, so the work runs tight to fences, walks, and gas lines, and the chips leave with the truck. A block where you cannot tell a stump was ever there is a block that can be planted again.
