Dibbleville keeps its own hours — narrow blocks, deep shade, sidewalks poured long before anyone thought about turning radius. A and A Lawn and Land Service works those yards and the newer ones out past them, mowing on a steady rotation, edging the walks, clearing away what the deck throws. In October the maples let go nearly all at once and the same lawns disappear under gold, which is simply the next item on the list. Then the year turns over and the work becomes plowing: drives pushed clear, porch steps shoveled, salt laid where shade keeps ice past noon. A tidy line against hundred-year-old concrete is a small thing, and it is the whole point.
