Blakes Lawn & Landscape

About Blakes Lawn & Landscape

Clare County wears its history in the trees — jack pine and popple grown back over ground the lumber camps once cut flat — and Farwell sits right in the middle of it. Blakes Lawn & Landscape keeps the lawns of that sandy country mown and trimmed through the short green season, with cleanups at both ends while the ground is soft enough to rake. Sandy soil dries fast and greens fast, so timing the route is half the craft of it. Then winter arrives with all the seriousness this latitude is known for, and the work becomes plowing driveways, opening turnarounds and clearing the walk to the door. Both jobs finish the same way: standing back, looking at it, knowing it is right.
