March leaves a mess behind it here — sand and grit thrown up along every curb, matted turf, branches down after the ice, beds full of whatever blew in since November. Outstanding Lawn & Landscape starts the year by hauling all of that off, then settles into mowing, trimming and edging as the ground firms up and the grass finds its footing. Come the other end of the calendar the work flips to plowing drives, opening walks and putting salt down where meltwater refreezes overnight. Seeing a property come out of a Farmington Hills winter and look like itself again within a day is one of the good parts of this trade. The rest of the year is just keeping it there.
