First Oakland Lawn and Snow

About First Oakland Lawn and Snow

The hills in Farmington Hills are not decoration — the glaciers left this ground rolling, and nearly every lot has a high side and a low side. First Oakland Lawn and Snow works with that grade all year: mowing across slopes where a mower wants to slide, trimming the steep bits by hand, then plowing uphill drives in winter and salting the pitch where a car would otherwise drift toward the street. Water and snow both obey the same terrain, and reading it is what separates a job that holds from one that has to be redone. On a clear winter morning you can stand at the top of one of these drives, look down a clean black slope to the road, and know the day is going to start on time. That is the point of all of it.
