Lather Lawncare

About Lather Lawncare

October in the township smells like harvest dust, and the combines run late under a sky gone the color of tin. Lather Lawncare is out on those same afternoons, taking lawns down for the last time and chasing leaves off the grass and out of the bed corners before the rain mats them flat. Earlier in the year it is the steady rhythm of the mowing route, fence lines trimmed, edges kept honest where sod meets sidewalk and drive. Yards here sit up against open acreage, so the boundary between kept and wild is a line someone has to draw every week. Drawing it neatly is the entire point of the job.
