The Leelanau Trail follows an old rail grade through Elmwood Charter Township, and in October it becomes a tunnel of yellow maple leaves that all have to end up somewhere. Kerby Lawn and Maintenance spends that stretch of autumn pulling leaves off turf and out of beds, finishing with lawns clear enough to hold up under the first snow. Earlier in the year the work is weekly and unfussy: mow, trim close to posts and trunks, edge, blow the walks. Properties near Greilickville sit tight to the road, so the work is done clean and nothing is left on the pavement. Neat is the product, week after week.
