About Bored Retired Firefighters, LLC

Old US-12 runs through Edwardsburg the way it always has, and when snow crosses the Indiana line the side roads off it go quiet and white in a hurry. Bored Retired Firefighters, LLC plows that country — driveways, lots and lake-road turnarounds opened up, walks cleared, salt down on the short steep approaches that climb up from the water. Lake-effect off Michigan reaches this far inland with plenty left in it, so a night can put down more than the forecast promised. The work happens in the dark, in the hours nobody else wants, and it makes oddly good company: one truck, one road, one drive at a time. Daylight arrives to a town already dug out.
