About American Turf Care, Inc.

By seven on a July morning the River Raisin is still throwing cool air up over Dundee's back streets, and that is the hour American Turf Care, Inc. likes best for mowing. Lawns get cut, trimmed and edged, the clippings swept off the walk, so what's left is an even sweep of green and one clean line where the grass meets the drive. Out past the crossing of M-50 and US-23 the yards run bigger and flatter, and the work is the same care taken at a longer stride. In January the trucks change jobs entirely: driveways plowed, walks opened, salt down on the glaze that hides in the shade of a garage wall. It is a Dundee kind of year — mower to plow and back around again — and there is pride in both halves of it.
